Hello and welcome to our travel blog! We are Cody and Kat and we’ll be sharing the wealth of travel knowledge we picked up during our years of travel.
Yes, I know, just what the internet needs…another travel blog.
But I promise it won’t be like all those other lame ones! You know the ones where everyone is trying too hard to look like an influencer and the blog posts are nothing but walls of text to help with their SEO.
I always get frustrated when researching a travel topic and only find sites with generic copy/paste info and just plug tours so they get a commission.
A bit more about us
In short, we are a married couple in our early 40s, childless (thankfully), run our own web design business, have 6 cats, practice Muay Thai, and currently live in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
I (Cody) am originally from Dallas, Texas. I moved to Mexico City when I was 28 after meeting my future wife Kat and lived there for 12 years. I am currently a permanent resident of Mexico and live in paradise
My partner in crime is Kat and she is from Mexico City and she is the salt and pepper of this team :3
She has a background in business management, speaks 4 languages, and is a Hello Kitty fanatic! When I say fanatic, I mean other-level stuff. Ask her to show you her Hello Kitty collection and be prepared to be impressed.
How we like to travel
We are self-guided travelers…meaning we pretty much just show up and wing it. It’s a lot more fun that way. I get to use skills I don’t get to use sitting in front of a computer all day running our web design business.
We don’t book tours often either. We just decide what we want to do and then just go. I don’t like to be stuck with people all day and being told what to do and where to go. Some of the best experiences we’ve had were when we got lost and ended up in unexpected places. I don’t need someone to hold my hand and lead me around.

Lots of really good travel advice of course! We have lots of unique insights into the places we’ve been. We’ll put together the best travel tips and tricks to save money, avoid mistakes, and travel like a pro! Also, we are big foodies so watch for our guides on the best places to eat.
And if you like cats, you are in luck! We have 6 handsome babies and plan to show them off as much as possible!
